Together, you and your support person will learn and practice essential skills, preparing you to give birth with confidence and love.
Grit, Resilience, and Birth: Prepare to Meet the Moment
Shelley’s approach is about preparing for more, not less—leaning into the intensity of birth rather than avoiding it. In her classes, you won’t just learn about labor; you’ll embody the essence of it through movement, breath, and embodied practice.
She guides you to find your steadiness in the unknown, resilience in the face of intensity, and the grit to stay present—and she teaches partners to do the same. Shelley doesn’t hold back. Her classes are a wild ride, mirroring the raw, powerful journey of birth itself. Because the best way to prepare isn’t to watch from the sidelines—it’s to step in and embody it.
"I was genuinely lucky to have the opportunity of attending the Childbirth Preparation Workshop hosted by Shelley Rahim. She was well-informed, entertaining, and both her food and energy were phenomenal! With almost three months of fatherhood now under my belt, I could not imagine how difficult this time would have been without her guidance. Shelly is, without a doubt, a birth warrior!"

"Shelley's birth classes were one of the most valuable things that we did together in preparation for our son’s birth. Shelley’s class helped us to prepare physically, emotionally and spiritually. Her class allowed us to BE in our bodies together in a way that taught us how to labor more lovingly together.
We used SO many postures from her class during labor...slow dancing, cat-cow, squats and lunges, among others. We used all the breathing techniques and relaxation exercises. But most of all, it was the calm, centered, emotional connection that Shelley helps couples find in her classes that served us so well through our son's birth. We will definitely take her class again when we are ready to have another child!”

“The birth of my son would have gone completely differently had my partner and I not taken Shelley‘s Childbirth Workshop. She masterly combined left and right brain elements that prepared us both physically and emotionally for birth. I was able to avoid a cesarean by drawing on lessons I leaned in her class. The entire birth process was difficult but such a special experience for myself and my partner and I know that so much of it came from what we took away from Shelley’s classes. If you do nothing else to prepare for birth, take Shelley’s classes - it’s absolutely worth it for both mothers and fathers (and your baby)!”

“Taking Shelley Rahim’s childbirth workshop was an incredibly enriching experience for me and my husband. The depth of information provided was comprehensive, covering everything from labor techniques to emotional preparation, and postpartum care. Shelley’s extensive knowledge, vulnerability, and positive demeanor created a welcoming and supportive environment, making it very engaging and informative. Additionally, the group structure allowed us to gain diverse perspectives and share experiences, which added an exceptional layer of insight and camaraderie to the learning process.
Shelley’s unique focus on nutrition and the importance of proper postpartum care was extremely beneficial and practical. It’s very rare that postpartum nutrition is offered when comparing other birth prep courses. I highly recommended Shelley’s class as essential; it’s my number one choice for both new and experienced moms.”
