Labor and birth are profound journeys of opening—body, mind, heart, and soul—taking you to new depths. This transformative experience calls for a deep connection with your body. Learning to listen and trust your body and your baby--will allow you to embrace the birthing process.

In our modern world, we tend to focus on thinking, analyzing, and planning, often neglecting the importance of feeling, sensing, and embracing the unknown. Childbirth is not an intellectual process. It requires us to quiet the mind and focus on feeling, sensing, moving, and breathing our babies into the world.

In this Zoom prenatal yoga series, you’ll practice quieting your mind, tuning into your body, and learning to stay relaxed through discomfort. You’ll explore how your body opens during labor and discover ways to support this process. Most importantly, you will develop trust in your body's ability to give birth and deepen your bond with your baby.

And, I almost forgot to mention the obvious…you'll alleviate and prevent common pregnancy aches and pains!

With Shelley as your guide, you’ll engage in thought-provoking discussions and connect deeply with other mothers. This journey of self-discovery and shared experience will empower you to approach birth with confidence and love--regardless of the outcome.

Shelley!

Shelley Rahim brings over 17 years of experience as a Certified Prenatal Yoga Instructor (RPYT), expertly integrating yoga's wisdom with the primal aspects of childbirth into her classes. With her background of attending over 200 births as a birth doula, Shelley deeply understands the spectrum of emotions and challenges mothers encounter on the birthing journey. 

She has trained with numerous leaders in the birth and yoga fields, including Gail Tully of Spinning Babes™ , Pam England of Birthing From Within™ , Tema Mercado of La Matriz Birth, and Gurumuhk Kaur Khalso among others. 

Shelley's classes foster a strong sense of community, preparing mothers for one of the most profound and transforamtive experiences of their lives. 

 

faq

how do i join the class?

This workshop is ideal for experienced parents! You’ll have the chance to review past birth experiences, reflect on what worked and what could be improved, integrate new pain-coping strategies and partner preparation techniques for an amazing birth experience.

What props do i need?

Shelley will send an email with all the details! But, plan to wear clothes for movement, bring a yoga mat and plenty of food to last you 6.5 hours!

what if i have to miss a class?

Anytime after entering your second trimester is perfect!

what if i have a cesarean birth?

A maximum of 6 couples. This will allow me to give individualized support as we work through the value packed agenda.

what if this isn't my first baby?

This class will still be very valuable! If your baby eventually turns head down, you and your partner will be prepared for a vaginal delivery. Shelley can also give you guidance and suggestions for encouraging the baby to turn.
